Proof of recognition as a Higher Education Institution: Founded on November 9, 2002, International University (IU) was officially approved by the Royal Government of Cambodia on December 16, 2002 (Sub-decree 122). Later Office of the QA & Assessment of IU has been established since September 2003.

International University is well-known among the students and to the public as the pioneering and private University in Cambodia that provides medical education in addition to other courses such as Nursing, Humanities & Languages, Agriculture and Rural Development, Science & Technology, Law, Social Sciences & Journalism, and Business & Economics.

International University has firm goals and objectives to develop its quality of education. First and foremost, International University is providing its students with high quality education through distinguished teachers that they are all competent in human resource development to develop studentsâ?? capability and lifetime career potentials. Teachers at IU are specially recruited based on their qualification and experiences suitable for the subjects they teach. We try our best to get the feedback from our students on their learning progress and difficulty. We installed â??Suggestion Boxâ? and we do â??Teacher Evaluationâ? every semester to get to know more on how we can best suit the studentsâ?? needs and to ensure the accuracy and efficiency in education. We have also maintained a healthy and dynamic work environment for staff that nurtures contribution, commitment, and initiatives. We also try to develop local, regional and international cooperation with communities, business, and other educational providers to ensure the preservation of quality.

In addition to our strong determination in strengthening the quality of education, IU has collaborated with important governmental and non-governmental organizations both in the region and overseas.

For example, on 16 March 2004, IU signed an MoU with Rangsit University of Thailand on exchange programs and joint scientific research in academic and educational activities of the two institutions.

On 19 January 2005, IU signed a similar MoU with National University of Laos concerning the duoâ??s academic and scientific collaborations.

Lately, on 27 December 2005, IU signed an agreement of academic collaboration with Vinayaka Missionâ??s Research Foundation â?? Deemed University (VMRF) of India. (For more information on IU Governmental Partners, International Partners, NGO and Private Sector Partners, IU International and Professional Membership, see our website at www.iu.edu.kh).

At IU, we also organize various workshops monthly to maintain our quality of education. Indeed, we have been visited by numerous lecturers, experts and doctors from different countries around the world for lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences in the fields of management, medicine, languages, business, technology and many others. Typically, we organize at least one workshop a month and one of our latest workshops which was held on 23 February 2006, was the collaboration with the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia (ACC) and McMaster University, Canada on â??Quality Assurance and Assessment Method Workshopâ?.

In summary, IU has tried our best to be very active in Quality Assurance. We hope by joining your network (Asia Pacific Quality Network), we will learn more on how to better our internal quality and stay in-line with our neighboring countries especially universities in APQNâ??s network in terms of quality education.
