Criteria Requirements for Intermediate Member
1 Criterion: Nature of the operations of the agency:
Measure: The agency is responsible for reviews at institutional or programme level of post-secondary education institutions or post-secondary quality assurance agencies

Description: NCAAA is responsible for institutional reviews and program accreditation of Timor Leste HEIs. The Accreditation Manual used for the 2008 and 2009 reviews is enclosed. During 2007-2009, NCAAA was in a project mode under the Directorate of HE. On 30 July 2009, the Ministry of Education appointed Dr Antony Stella as the Establishment Adviser to launch NCAAA as a full fledged QA body. Staff have been recruited now and on 6 January 2010 the newly recruited staff joined NCAAA.

The accreditation manual, enclosed under criterion 1, provides the objectives for which NCAAA has been established. The primary mission of NCAAA is to monitor the quality and standards of the Timor Leste HEIs. The 2009 Accreditation Reports based on which two institutions are kept under probation and anotehr has been closed is enclosed.

NCAAA has been established by the Minsitry of Education and funded by the Ministry. The accreditation reports of 2008 based on which the Minsitry took serious decisions is enclosed.
