Proof of recognition as a Higher Education Institution: NUMLâ??s shared intentionality with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) and global demands on quality-centric higher education helped to establish the Faculty of Quality Enhancement, Research & Publication (FQE, R&P), to ensure enhancement of quality as its progressive mission. With our quality assurance framework that is in line with the framework of Quality Assurance Agency of the HEC, FQE, R&P is working hard to maintain the criteria of quality in all aspects of the university that affect the quality of learning and research such as, availability of competent and relevant faculty for quality of learning and research at all levels, relevance of curricula, availability of technology and infrastructure, creation of an enabling environment that recognizes and supports truly excellent research, fostering research and development for quality enhancement, assessment and accreditation of academic programs and administrative policies and processes, quality scholarly output and its dissemination that reflect the universityâ??s mission to be recognized as an eminent center of learning that works with excellence, and also gives simultaneous assurance of international competitiveness and compatibility amongst the eminent centers of learning and research in Pakistan.
This faculty is headed by a dean reporting directly to the Rector, as charged by the Quality Assurance Agency of the HEC. The QAA empowers the dean to take initiatives in the best interests of the university in line with its pledged vision and mission. S/He corresponds with the outside bodies and becomes a corresponding agency between them and the university bodies and programs as well as international network of Quality assurance agencies and international collaborations. The development of Quality Assurance is a continuous process and therefore, continuity of strategies, actions and efforts is a prerequisite for quality in higher education. Quality Assurance including its processes, procedures and outcomes of assessment is a challenge and its management is even a greater challenge to practitioners seeking workable guidelines, evidences of good practices and tools that will facilitate the process.
The Faculty of QE, R&P at NUML includes Quality Enhancement Cell, Anti-Plagiarism Unit, Research Publications, Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization. Details can be accessed at http://numl.edu.pk/quality-assurance.aspx
