Who are UK NARIC?

UK NARIC is the UK?s National Agency responsible for providing information, advice and expert opinion on vocational, academic and professional qualifications from over 180 countries worldwide. As the National Agency, managed on behalf of the UK Government, under contract to the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, UK NARIC provides the only official source of information on international education and training systems and wide-ranging international qualifications and skills attained from outside the UK.

UK NARIC also plays a key role in research, consultancy and training in the international education and qualification standards arena.

The UK leads the world in its recognition and consistent understanding of overseas qualifications. This is due, in no small part, to the work UK NARIC. Their understanding of qualifications, education systems and skills internationally is second to none and the comparisons they provide and the clear way in which they present the information means that organisations throughout the UK can make an informed opinion when considering the benefits that individuals from overseas can bring to the UK.

What do UK NARIC do?

UK NARIC?s services are provided to the public and member organisations worldwide. No other organisation offers the unique blend of products and services essential to progression towards further studies or employment in the UK:

? For individuals: every year over 70,000 people from overseas contact them to understand how their qualifications relate to those in the UK
? For member organisations: they help businesses, academic institutions including all British universities, recruitment and employment services and Government departments to efficiently and effectively process applications from individuals with international qualifications.

Helping identify the most able individuals from overseas

Identifying the most able talent is a key element in the continued success of UK universities and UK based organisations. The data and information provided by UK NARIC enables member organisations to be able to identify the most able individuals with overseas qualifications. This in turn improves the competitive of UK plc and promotes the international mobility of individuals from across the globe.

Support key Government policies

UK NARIC is the sole data provider for academic, vocational and professional qualifications and institution data to the calculator to the Points Based System for immigration to the UK.

International benchmarking and skill standards
