Professional Summary Description: My name is Hala Talaat , I graduated in 1985 signed up excellent with honor. I was appointed in Cairo University, Faculty of Medicine ,Pediatric department in 1987 till now.rnrn I have been working in Medical Education Development Center (MEDC), Faculty of Medicine Cairo University since 2001 till now. The pivot activity of MEDC is the technical support in reviewing and development of instructional units of different curricula. Also, training faculty staff members on teaching and learning methods, curriculum development, studentsâ?? assessment and establishment of internal quality assurance system at the institutional level are regularly conducted.rnrnI have been selected as a member in MEDC for the last 5 years; this allows me to share in planning the policy and the activities of the center and the educational activities at the Faculty level.rn rnI have been working in the Quality Assurance Unit Faculty of Medicine Cairo University for the last 5 years. The unit is responsible for the development and conduction of questionnaires for students, Faculty staff members and administration staff to get the feedback and measure the satisfaction of the educational activities, reviewing the educational program and courses, development of the self study, dissemination of quality culture among the academic society and training of the faculty. I am responsible for developing, organizing and conducting the training of the academic staff for quality assurance system at the Faculty, and as a certified trainer at University level rnrn rn At departmental level in my school, I worked in a team to fully adopt the pediatric curriculum and develop the instructional unit in 2007/2008. rnrnIn 2004, I started my activates in quality assurance at the level of my Faculty by participation in developing the first self study. One year later I joined the national quality assurance and accreditation project where I participated in all its activities which included: refereeing projects, training of peer reviewers, organizing site visits, reviewing reports of site visits and preparations of workshops and conferences. I conducted more than 12 sites visits where I worked as peer reviewer, chair, and mentor.rnrnIn 2009, I had the chance to extend my peer reviewer activities to Saudi Arabia where I reviewed king Saoud and King Faisal Medical school that added a lot to my experience.rnrnI participated in developing of the program and courses specifications and reports for undergraduates and postgraduates in my Faculty. Also, I worked as an external evaluator of the post- graduates program for Benha Faculty of Medicine.rnrnI got my Master degree in Medical Education from Maastricht and Suez Canal (JMHPE) in April 2008. Master degree sculptured my background in Medical Education with a perfect fine tuning of my experiences.rnrnThe External Reviewing in Quality Assurance in higher education certificate from IIEP (UNISCO) (December, 2008), gave me a great chance to conceptualize the structure of Higher Education Institution and the quality of the educational activities. Also, it added to me fruitful knowledge in quality assurance system especially cross border education. rnrnI was the consultant for Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education for conducting the scoping study in the Arab region. I was assigned for conducting the survey, helping in analyzing the information and developing the data and finally writing the report of the scoping study with its recommendations.
