Graduate of a French â??grande écoleâ??, ESSEC Business School in 1980, Patricia Pol has worked in the private sector of multinational corporations before entering the academic sector at the end of the 80s and becoming Vice-President for international development of her university in 2000 and of a Pole of research and Higher education (PRES) in 2008 gathering universities, grandes écoles and research institutes.  \r\nHer teaching concerns international and intercultural management and human resource development. As such she has been involved in the quality assurance systems issue in the private and the public sectors. She is co-director of a masterâ??s course in â??Development and Management of universities and has been responsible for a master in economic expertise and international project management in Hanoï. Her research centres on internationalization of organizations (firms and universities) and more particularly, international mobility. She has written various articles and reports about the higher education system in France and the internationalization of French universities. \r\n\r\nIn charge of international development at a political position since 1991 (director and Vice president), she has followed 20 years of reforms leading to more autonomy and and she has contributed to develop quality culture in her university. Coordinating the French Bologna expert team since 2005, she has played an active role in  implementing the European Higher education area at regional, national and institutional levels, taking into account the necessity to respect diversity  in designing common frameworks and guidelines. She has been participating in many conferences on the Bologna process all over the world.\r\n During the last 15 years, she has coordinated several international and European projects in various fields in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. Expert for the French National evaluation agency (AERES) and the Swiss agency (OAQ), she has participated in the evaluation of French universities.  She has also contributed to numerous studies related to the Erasmus programme, the international grant system of the French government, and the â??CampusFranceâ?? agency.\r\nShe has been organizing different European conferences in France concerning higher education and its international dimension such as \"Mobility and internationalization of doctoral studies in 2009, and \"Joint programmes and international education in 2011\". \r\nSince the first of september 2011, she has a new position in the french quality agency, AERES \'Agence d\'évaluation de l\'enseignement supérieur et de la recherche\' in charge of European and international affairs.
